With the support of the Secular Buddhist Network, I have created a website for Italian speakers at https://www.buddismosecolare.it, a gateway designed to help Italian-speaking people discover the SBN and its rich library of resources.
I came across the Secular Buddhist Network some time ago, and the content I found there really resonated with me; the clarity of the approach, the grounding in practice, the absence of dogma. Being able to read and understand it in English was a privilege, but I kept thinking about the many Italian speakers who would never find their way to these same ideas simply because of the language barrier. That is what motivated me to build this site.
While the SBN website does offer a translation tool, it is not optimized for Italian speakers, and most of the content exists primarily in English. Italian speakers searching for secular Buddhism in their own language, which is how most would naturally begin, have very little to find. This site aims to bridge that gap.
It guides Italian-speaking visitors toward the SBN's existing resources in a more accessible way, while also beginning to build something of its own: a dedicated Italian section where, in time, we hope to develop content, conversations, and community specifically for Italian speakers, in collaboration with SBN.
The longer-term vision is to help connect Italian practitioners with one another and with the wider SBN community, and perhaps eventually to support the growth of local sanghas across Italy.
This is an early project, and there is much still to grow. Italian-speaking practitioners and curious minds are warmly invited to visit the site and share it with others.
